DIN 1.4912 Pipes

DIN 1.4912 is a stainless steel grade commonly used for pipes and tubing. The its good mechanical properties, high-temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. Type 1.4912 is a niobium-containing chromium molybdenum vanadium martensitic stainless steel. This is particularly well suited to high performance applications, especially in cases where strength, wear resistance and thermal stability are essential. DIN Designation: 1.4401 (AISI 316); 1.4404 (AISI 316L) This grade of stainless steel is commonly utilized in manufacturing pipes and tubes.

Application

DIN 1.4912 stainless steel pipes are used in various industries that demand materials with high mechanical strength and good thermal resistance which include:

  • Power Plants
  • Steam Generator Tubing
  • Heat Exchangers
  • Component of High-Pressure Boiler
  • Oil and Gas Industry
  • Transportation and Storage of High-Temperature Fluids
  • Refinery Equipment
  • Aerospace Industry
  • Structural Elements in Motors
  • Exhaust Systems
  • Chemical Processing Plants
  • Reactors
  • Heavy-Duty Chemical Pipelines at High Temperatures
  • Automotive Mechanical Engineering
  • Exhaust Manifolds
  • Turbocharger

Features

High-Temperature Resistance: Resistant to temperature up to 650 degrees, allowing this material to be used in heat-related applications.

Corrosion Resistance: Oxidation and corrosion resistant in high-temperature and high-pressure environment.

Mechanical Strength: Even at high temperatures, it has high tensile strength and toughness.

Creep Resistance: Absorption of increased gaseous substances in a specific temperature range.

Wear Resistance: This steel generates high hardness and wear resistance due to its martensitic structure and also alloying elements.

Good Weldability: Can be joined by standard methods, given adequate preheating and post-weld heat therapy are used.

Durability: Robust service life in arduous industrial service.
