Introduction:
There has been tremendous development in the manufacturing industry. Which increases more complexities in its application process. To keep pace with industrial applications, the piping system evolved. The stainless steel seamless piping system and the welded piping system are the two broad categories of piping systems. Both the piping system have different molding and manufacturing processes.
Stainless Steel Seamless Pipes:
The jointless or pipe without a crease is called stainless steel seamless pipe. The round steel billet warmed and pulled to a point where it converts into a hollow pipe. It has higher pressure holding capacity. It has various focus grades like Stainless Steel 304, 316, 321. It is largely used in thermal, boiler, high-weight hardware, and big industrial ventures.
Stainless Steel Welded Pipes:
The process of production of Stainless Steel welded pipes starts with looping of proper gauge thickness. Followed by slicing of flat level strip related to the measurements of pipe. The pipe is then curled through a progression of rollers. At the last crease or a joint is then welded. The weld-joint or the crease is the weaker part of the pipe. The process of manufacturing welded pipes requires less capital.
Stainless Steel Seamless Pipes Vs Welded Pipes:
Although both the piping systems do the same function. But there are differences between the two. First thing first, the manufacturing and molding processes of both the piping system are different. The length of stainless steel seamless pipes is relatively shorter than welded pipes. The welded pipes are more prone to corrosion. On the other hand, stainless steel seamless pipes are less reactive to corrosion. Unless used in a highly corrosive environment. The cost of raw material used to manufacture welded pipes is usually less expensive. The stainless steel seamless pipes have a relatively large and thick diameter when compared with welded pipes. Since the welding joint acts as a weak point in the welded piping system. The welding piping is not used in high-pressure areas. Which are not there in the case of stainless steel seamless pipes.
Conclusion:
Both the piping systems are different from each other. One can use any piping system given the prior requirement specifications. We can use stainless steel seamless piping system in place of a welding piping system. But we cannot use a welding piping system in place of stainless steel seamless piping system. As the pressure holding capacity of welding pipes is lower than stainless steel seamless pipes.
